A little love makes a huge difference and it could change someone else’s life for the better. It’s always very sad to hear when a cat has spent a long time at the shelter waiting for the right person to come along and adopt them. Some people in the world find beauty in unexpected places. People like Francisca Franken.
Meet Bean, he was first discovered living as a stray cat in an abandoned trailer park before somebody rescued her. She was covered in battle scars and was in desperate need of medical attention. There was something about the cat’s flat face, tough attitude and sad eyes that made her stop scrolling.
They nursed her back to health and decided it was time to put her up for adoption as nobody had come forward to claim her.
Time passed, and so did the perspective adoptees. Every day Bean waited patiently for someone to take her home – but it didn’t happen until Franken came along.
“I saw her photo and fell in love the second I saw her,” Franken told. “Well, at first I laughed because the pictures were so funny and I’d never seen a cat like this before.”
The kitty’s face had huge, almost gloomy eyes that somehow captivated Franken. Right then and there, she knew she’d have to see her for herself.

Without hesitation, Franken wrote to the animal shelter to see if the funny-looking cat was available for adoption. The shelter had to follow up with her, but Franken’s need for a response kept her up all night in anticipation.
Finally, the next day, the shelter called her back and was quite surprised she wanted to adopt the cat named Bean.
“I got a call from a friendly lady from the rescue who asked me if Bean was really the cat I wanted to apply for because, apparently, nobody had been interested in her before,” Franken said. “The woman who called me was scared that I just pressed the wrong button or something.”
