Meet Saul, Cat With The Grumpiest Face Makes Everyone At Shelter Fall In Love With Him -Cat Story

“Don’t judge a book by its cover” is usually a phrase thrown around a normal conversation. At times, we forget the real essence of this phrase, and we end up taking it for granted. However, that’s not the case for those at the RSPCA‘s Putney Animal Hospital where one day, they learned exactly what it means through the personal story of a grumpy-looking cat named Saul.

Saul was found in mid-October wandering along a street in London in the rain, clearly injured and in need of help. A man spotted him and quickly contacted the RSPCA, which sent an animal collection officer out to rescue Saul and take him straight to the RSPCA’s Putney Animal Hospital.

Saul had nasty inᴊᴜʀɪᴇs which have contributed to his crabby expression but were in the right hands to make a full recovery.
RSPCA London Veterinary Director Caroline Allen said: “ He was in a very sorry state with and had discharge coming from his eyes and nose and looked very poorly indeed.

“We believe he was involved in a road traffic accident as we found he had inᴊᴜʀɪᴇd his jaw, teeth, and one eye – all leading to his rather unique look! “He’s had to have his jaw wired so it’s no surprise he’s a little grumpy!”

No matter what kind of mood he’s in or how he’s feeling, Saul always has the grumpiest face. Even when he is cuddled up with his friends, or simply looking around to observe everyone, his grumpy expression remains prominent.

Staff at the hospital are unsure if Saul’s grumpy face is due to his past injuries or just something he was born with, but regardless, it’s clear that his constantly grumpy expression is there to stay. As everyone got to know Saul better, he revealed himself to be the sweetest, most affectionate cat around — but you would never be able to guess that based on his face.

“We’re sure someone will fall in love with this glum-looking puss! In fact, we think he could be a bit of a star. We’re sure he’d give Grumpy Cat a run for his money – that’s why we’re affectionately nicknaming him Grumpy Cat 2.0!”
