A photographer in Bangladesh took images of a courageous and touching rescue hero that will restore your faith in mankind.
A newborn deer separated from its family by a flooded river in Noakhali, Bangladesh, had a poor chance of survival.
However, Belal, a local youngster in his early teens, ri.sked the flooded river to rejoin the fawn with its family.
The fast river waters were at times above the boy’s head, as seen by the images, and all that could be seen was his hand skilfully holding the tiny deer by all four legs.
Hasibul Wahab, the wildlife photographer who photographed the heroic res.cue, was as amazed as he was concerned for the boy’s safety.
“One of my friends was even willing to leap into the river to save the youngster.” But he got there, and when he got back, we praised the youngster,” he added.
“There were only around five to seven individuals watching this incident, but it was a spectacular sight.”
