Sadly, the world is not always fun and bright. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made, even if they break your heart. A few days ago, this 12-year-old boy had to make one just like that.
A young boy in Mexico had to make a heartbreaking decision in order to protect his puppy, had to decide on something that will hurt him a lot, and that is to take his puppy, whom he loves immensely, to the rescue group Refugio Xollin. He did all this just to protect him.
They found a small pit bull in the box with a message saying why the dog was brought there:
The letter that the kid left with the puppy “My name is Andrés and I’m 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave him to you. All of this is behind my dad’s back because he was thinking of selling him. But he is always ʙᴇᴀ.ᴛɪɴɢ and ᴋɪᴄᴋ.ɪɴɢ the dog. Once he kicked him so hard that his little tail got injured. I hope you can help him and take care of him. Here is a plush toy so he won’t forget me.”
The rescue center called and said that someone had left the dog at the entrance to the shelter, and there was still a message and a small toy for the dog in the box. According to them, the message was written by a child and explained that his dad always ᴀʙᴜ.sᴇᴅ the dog and soon wanted to get rid of him by selling him. This is the reason why the child brought the dog, to save him.
The staff at the shelter were deeply moved by the boy’s note.
They named the pup Rene while giving him a health check. Luckily for Rene, he’s now in good hands. The good people of Xollin are making sure that he gets the treatment he needs, and they are also looking for the perfect home for him.
They were to check the health of the puppy.
“We need to take the dog to the vet so he can check his tail, which apparently is ғʀᴀᴄ.ᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ. We also get him a check-up. This means more expenses and work for us, but luckily the dog will be safe.”
The shelter also mentioned that they wish more people would adopt animals, not only when they go viral. There are millions of ᴀʙᴜ.sᴇᴅ animals in the world and they all need love and a happy family.
“If you all opened your heart and your home to all and not only to this dog, all our animals in the shelter would have been already adopted twice. Thanks to the few people who came to the shelter offering their help to protect other animals suffering ᴀʙᴜ.sᴇᴅ or being abandoned in our district and surroundings.”
After they shared Rene’s story on Facebook, hundreds of requests to adopt him dropped in, so it is just a matter of time before he finds his forever home.
