Horses are majestic creatures with their powerful build and flowing mane. But what if a horse had hair that was so long and beautiful that it resembled the fairy-tale character Rapunzel? Well, such a horse does exist, and her name is Storm.
As It Flaunts Its Great, Long Blonde Locks, Storm Resembles Princess Rapunzel
Haflinger horses are known for having long manes, and this female, Storm, has hair that has grown to be more than a meter long for six years.
The incredible sight was captured by amateur photographer Priscilla Gijsberts in Limburg, south of the Netherlands. Naomi Beckers, Storm’s owner, poses with her horse.
I met Storm’s owner on Instagram and was amazed by Storm’s mane,’ said the 25-year-old from Eindhoven, Netherlands.’ Some Haflingers have wavy hair, which is most noticeable when they are young and have shorter manes.’
However, as their manes grow longer, their waves usually straighten, unlike their tails, which frequently remain wavy throughout their lives.
’By the time Storm was three years old, she already had manes that reached her shoulder; from then on, they were never ᴄᴜᴛ and were always kept in braids to protect them.’
The Storm Is A Beautiful Horse And A, Well-Trained And Gentle Horse
Aside from her stunning mane, Storm is a well-trained and well-behaved horse.
She has participated in many horse shows and competitions, where her beauty and grace have earned her numerous awards and accolades.
She is also a gentle and loving horse who enjoys spending time with her owner and leisurely rides through the countryside.
Storm Is A Haflinger Horse
A breed renowned for having long manes which, when cared for correctly, can resemble human hair
The horse’s hair is naturally wavy but is braided at the front to stop it from being caught or stuck in and around her stable when she is on her own.
Storm, who lives in Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands, with owner Naomi, is one of the thousands of the breed found all over Europe, having been developed in Austria in the 17th century.
The Haflinger was initially developed to work in the mountainous regions of its native land, where it was used as a packhorse and for forestry and agricultural work.
Today, the breed is used in many activities, including draft and pack work, light harness and combined driving, and many athletic events.
Storm is a horse like no other. Her incredibly long blonde hair is a sight to behold, and it has captured the hearts of many people worldwide. She is a true testament to the beauty and grace of these magnificent creatures and a reminder of the magic that can be found in the world around us.
